SUBMISSION RESTRICTIONS   Yeah, we hate censorship too… but we have to set some rules or else we’ll have complete chaos, particularly with the web host and our lawyer.

NO PORNOGRAPHY!
Now, what we mean by pornography is hard-core photography. If you photograph nudes, that’s fine… so long as they’re not of underage subjects, blatantly obscene, or pornographic in nature. The Golden Rule of Thumb here is: if Cinemax won’t show it after midnight, neither will we. There are a zillion other sites you can go to if you’re looking for porn.

Your work must be original.
If you send us a photo of a painting, and we find out it was actually done by some long-dead artist or even worse, a living person, we're not going to be happy. We will not tolerate plagiarism.

Photographers using models must have model release forms!
Let’s face it, some people love to have their picture taken but would be absolutely mortified to find themselves featured on a website like this. This policy not only protects us, but it protects the photographer as well. If you do not have a catch-all model release that allows your model’s image to be used in any and all manners, you’ll need to obtain one before we post your photographs. Contact us for details.

We reserve the right to refuse any submissions that we deem unsuitable or inappropriate for whatever reason.
While we try to remain open-minded and fair with showing submitted pieces, there are some things that we just can’t bring ourselves to post. We make it a point not to misrepresent Satanism or condone illegal activity. Please exercise your best judgement when submitting, or just e-mail us and ask if you have something you’re not sure we'll publish.

MUSICIAN, FILMMAKER, PERFORMANCE ARTISTS, & WRITER SUBMISSION INFORMATION
We’ve expanded the Artistic Devil website to be able to include information on musicians, writers, and performance artists.

Musicians -
First of all, we don’t feature sound files on this website… so don’t even ask. We might in the future, but for now we’re strictly visual. But that doesn’t mean we can’t promote your work in our directory. If you have a website where people can listen to samples of your work, please give us the link and we’ll post it on your page. We can also embed YouTube videos on your page.

We can also include promotional photos of bands, information on how to purchase CDs, your contact information, and a bio about your music or your band.

Writers -

We know there are a ton of websites out there that allow people to post their essays and poetry, so we won’t be going quite that far with our new Writer’s Directory. What we will do is help you promote your books, websites, blogs, etc… If you have a book out that you want to promote, we’ll need a short synopsis, information on where to go for sales, and a photo of the cover is always nice.

If you have a website or blog that you wish to direct people to, we’ll need a link to that and a short bio about you (the writer) and the type of writing you do (poetry, essays, science fiction, etc…) You may also have a photograph of yourself posted on your page.

Filmmakers & Performance Artists -

This includes dancers, film-makers, magicians, makeup artists, actors, fashion designers, and even mimes.

If you have video on YouTube, we can embed it on this site if you give us the link to where we can find it. We can post information about your work, photographs, contact information, links to the IMDB or other important directory, and a short bio about you.


SUBMITTING ARTWORK & ARTISTRY   The Galleries are for artists to show off their work. Please see the Art Restrictions before submitting any work for showing. That will save us all a lot of time and aggravation.

Our new website format allows artists who work in multiple mediums to be listed in more than one category. Submissions should have a title, artist’s real name, any pseudonym (pen name) you would want to be listed as, and the mediums used in each submission piece. Artists are also invited to include a short bio about themselves to be posted along with their work, and a link or two to any other websites or home pages they may have that is relevant.

Please send us an e-mail requesting Gallery consideration BEFORE sending work with attachments for security reasons. We will instruct you on how to proceed. There’s a special code we use for receiving art submissions, so let us know that you intend to submit some work and we’ll let you know how to go about doing it.

UN-ANNOUNCED E-MAILS WITH ATTACHMENTS WILL NOT BE OPENED.

When submitting a photo of your work for showing, please send it to us via e-mail in JPEG format no larger than 800x800. We will resize photos accordingly to fit the spaces available. Submissions should have the title of the piece as their names for easy identification. For example: “FlamingBaphomet.jpg”
